OPENING NARE ELOYAN | SOUVENIRS AND SAMPLES

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the festive opening of Souvenirs and Samples—in the presence of the artist—on Saturday, October 18th at 4:00 PM.

ROOF-A Gallery provides a platform for emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Naré Eloyan has just completed the two-year international residency program at the ‘Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten’. We are especially proud to present the exhibition ‘Souvenirs and samples’, (French translation souvenirs – memories) which brings together her work from the past two years.

Naré Eloyan created the work as a visual diary.
“I approached the works as a collage, often cutting up pieces of earlier paintings which later became new works. The paintings consist of multilayered images, placed on top of one another. This recycling of works is connected to the act of remembering and trying to reclaim what has been lost. With these paintings, I have tried to capture the fluidity and surprise of image connections.”
